Vojtech Szabó SYMPHONIC TANGO

The program is focused on the „Argentinian tango nuevo“, a form the fiery dance of the Spanish-speaking region elevated to new heights by the Brazilian composer Astor Piazzolla. You will hear two wonderful concerts „Aconcaqua“ and „Concierto de Necàr“, whose orchestral arrangement is dominated by the accordion. „Aconcaqua“ is a three-movement solo concerto for bandoneon. Vojtěch plays it on the accordion accompanied by a chamber orchestra. „Concierto de Nacàr“ has been written, apart from the main solo accordion, for eight other soloists. The solo parts are usually played by players of the accompanying orchestra. The third composition is „Tres minutos con la realidad“, an orchestral work with solo accordion. These are „three minutes of reality“ according to Piazzolla. The program is enriched with a solo part, where Vojtěch plays the famed fiery tangos by Astor Piazzolla, such as Libertango, Oblivion, Yo soi Maria. To provide contrast, the soloist includes Minuet and Badinerii 2´45′ by Johann Sebastian Bach.
